Drinking six to eight glasses of water each day may seem like more than enough, however for someone who’s trying to prevent or get rid of the discomfort of kidney stones, this is certainly not enough. Practitioners are concerned as thousands of kidney stones cases are seen yearly, caused mainly by the ignorance or denial of drinking lots of water each day.
Kidney stone sufferers increase by 5 to 10 percent each year affecting 10 to 20 percent of men, and 3 to 5 percent of women between the age of 30 and 60.
Some recommend the intake of at least 3 litres of water a day but this is purely advisory. It is wise however to increase your liquid intake as this is the best way to combat kidney stones.
